What I really want to do right now is antagonize Raptors fans, because I haven’t done that for a while and it’s always been one of my favorite leisure-time activites. And what better time for antagonization than right after one of their prized prospects ties a career high?
I have been finding, though, that Raptors fans aren’t as easily antagonizable as they used to be. It’s like winning a championship released all the pent-up edginess and tension that had been building up for the entire history of the franchise. It was so much easier to get them riled up when they were a team constantly getting beat in the playoffs by the Wizards and no one respected them at all.
Besides, my attempts to get them all worked up by saying something like “Terence Davis is really good but not because of the Raptors’ development practices which are total trash” wouldn’t work even in the best of conditions because that statement is so obviously false. Something closer to the truth would be “Terence Davis is total trash but not because of the Raptors’ development practices which are really good”.
Did it work? Did I get everyone all mad at me? No? How about this: “Terence Davis is a complete irredeemable bust who would be lucky to score 3 points per game in France”. It’s not working. See? Raptors fans are above getting mad at internet comments these days.
