Derrick Favors 22 Points/0 Missed Field Goals Full Highlights (1/18/2020)

By my count, Derrick Favors has now made 19 shots in a row. He made all 10 of them tonight, and made his last 9 attempts last game. I actually went back and looked at his last miss to see what kind of apocalyptic calamity could have possibly caused him to fail to successfully place the ball in the hole, and here’s what I found:

It was a floater.

The lesson to be learned here is that bigmen should NEVER shoot floaters. Bigmen should be dunking. Floaters are for midget guards who can’t get any other shot, and even they shouldn’t be shooting them. Favors has made a few floaters during this streak, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t a horrible shot that should never be attempted by anyone ever.

19 straight makes is a ton for an NBA player, I feel like. Apparently Wilt Chamberlain made 35 in a row, but that’s Wilt we’re talking about. He’s done everything crazy under the sun and then some, making bigman records his bitch, repeatedly. This is Derrick Favors. Just Derrick Favors, not even anyone especially good or anything. And he’s made 19 in a row. That’s got to be the most in recent history, right? My limited research tells me that Thomas Bryant had 16, but I’m too lazy to do more.

19 in a row, people.
