Jaren Jackson Jr. 29 Points Full Highlights (1/24/2020)

The three-point contest over All-Star weekend is coming right up, and there is still no word on whether Jaren Jackson Jr. is participating. The silence on the NBA’s end is saying a lot; they know that as soon as they announce the participants and Jackson isn’t among them, there will be mass discontent and possibly riots. They have to maintain the veneer of order for as long as possible, have the hope for Jackson in the three-point contest to stay alive in the hearts of the fans.

There is no reason he shouldn’t be an invitee. His resume is impeccable. Volume? Check. Accuracy? Check. Wonky shooting form that everyone can ironically cheer for except for DownToBuck who will be unironically cheering? Discount double check.

Sadly, the fact of the matter is that there are just way too many sweet three-point shooters in the league right now. Every team has at least one, and possibly as many as five or six, players who fanbases will feel got snubbed if they don’t get selected. But that doesn’t mean that that excuses the NBA from the really major snubs. Like Jackson will be if he doesn’t get selected. Come on. Just put him in the contest. I guarantee I’ll actually watch the thing on TV so the ratings look better instead of streaming it.

If they snub him from that, they could at least put him in the celebrity game. He counts as a celebrity, right? I want to see him dunk on whatever cruddy B-listers they manage to corral into playing that worthless game.
