Seth Curry has now scored 466 points through 43 games. If he continues at that pace, he should score roughly 889 points for the season (assuming that he has 39 games left to play – I’m not going to check that math because I’m lazy).
Meanwhile, the so-called “superior” brother, Steph Curry, has just 81 points this season in four games because Aron Baynes sat on his hand and turned it into skeletal shards and muscular manglement. His basketball-reference injury report pegs his return as happening on March 1st, so he’ll have 22 games left in the season in which to try to surpass his brother. Working on a projected deficit of 808 points, Steph will have to score 37 points per game for the remaining 22 games in order to score more points than his brother this season.
Steph is going to be coming back from a hand injury and he’s going to be returning to a team that has nothing to play for. It’s not even a foregone conclusion that he’ll play out the rest of the season if the games are truly meaningless. So, in my mind, Seth is a lock to be the better Curry brother this season, at least from a raw totals perspective.
Now we just have to investigate his bank accounts to see if there were any suspicious transactions between him and a certain big-bodied Australian who looks good in the shower…
