Taurean Prince 22 Points Full Highlights (1/29/2020)

Taurean Prince is second on the Nets in total field goal attempts. Obviously, Spencer Dinwiddie is first, because he’s been available for the whole year and kinda turned into a chucker when Kyrie Irving was out. But Prince being in second is kind of wild if you haven’t really been paying attention to the Nets’ season. Or even if you have. Because it’s just Taurean Prince. Not even someone who anyone really regards as “good”. He’s the epitome of “just a guy”.

Next year, the second-place person in total field goal attempts will be Kevin Durant. Because there’s no way Irving is going to let himself be second fiddle to anyone anymore.

But for now, Prince is the guy on the Nets who has to shoot a lot of shots because there aren’t a whole ton of other options. He developed some skills in Atlanta as a pretty good scorer at times, able to take (and even sometimes make) a bunch of different kind of shots. Looking at the rest of the Nets roster, you’ve got limited guys like Joe Harris and Jarrett Allen, injured guys like Irving and Caris LeVert, old guys like DeAndre Jordan and Garrett Temple, and bad guys like Wilson Chandler and Henry Ellenson (oh wait they waived him GOD DAMN IT someone give him a real chance you COWARDS). Prince is a young-ish guy with scoring talent, so there we go.

He totally outscored Irving in this game, by the way. Just like casual fans will think Trevor Ariza is some kind of beast, so they will about Prince. And maybe they’re not wrong.
