Cody Martin is playing a role for the Hornets. Not a very big role, and sometimes he doesn’t get to play at all, but he often gets 20-ish minutes to go out there and do whatever it is that he does. Defense? Probably. Scoring? Eh. 13 points being a season-high in 36 games played tells the whole story there.
That’s way more than can be said of his twin, Caleb, who got a few minutes early in the season but has been toiling away in the G-League for most of the past few months. I assume he’s dominating there (and thus is actually beating his brother, because real ballers just want to ball and don’t care about where the balling is occurring), but Cody is the one who gets to tell hot chicks at parties “I’m a real NBA player unlike my bro here who is a G-League scrub”.
It’s probably better this way, because unlike certain other twins in the NBA, the Martins look WAY too much alike and there’s no way to tell them apart, causing a lot of confusion on the court for someone like me who doesn’t pay attention to jersey numbers. I’m looking at pictures of them on Google right now and it’s freaking me out. They could at least do their hair differently, or their beard, but no. It’s like they like messing with people. It might be fun for them, but it’s not fun for everyone else.
