I want Avery Bradley to score the same amount of points (roughly 16 PPG per game) as he was scoring for the Grizzlies. Somehow, he needs to take control of the offense to the point that his unstoppable midrange jimbo becomes demonstrably unstoppable rather than theoretically unstoppable.
Bradley will have to step on some toes to achieve this. LeBron James doesn’t really have toes anymore (look up pictures of his feet and prepare to vomit), so Bradley can’t do anything about him. LeBron will get his no matter what techniques Bradley uses to take over more of the offense. In a similar vein, Anthony Davis is physically too large for Bradley to force him to not shoot as many shots. What’s he gonna do, just run over to AD and steal the ball out of his hands while he’s trying to post up? But Bradley can definitely establish himself as the third scorer behind LeBron and AD. It just means that all the other scrubs on the Lakers basically won’t get to shoot anymore. Depending on your opinion of their scrubs, this could be a good or bad thing.
If Bradley can pull this off successfully, everybody in Los Angeles will love him. They’ll discuss, in reverent tones, his ability to be “an important piece of this championship squad”. If he is unsuccessful, he’ll be reviled like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, but at least he’s never had to wear an ankle bracelet so people can’t make fun of him for that.
