Terence Davis should be a reminder to all GM’s in the league (minus Masai Ujiri, who already knows this) that NBA-caliber talent exists outside of the draft and outside the top levels of foreign leagues. Always do your due diligence on these dudes and you might uncover a hidden gem as the Raptors did with the undrafted Davis. Never discount players just because sixty draft picks went by without them being selected. Also, always take an extra-hard look at players who have old-looking faces, because having an old-looking face correlates strongly with being able to make an impact in the league right away.
This is all just a roundabout way of reminding front offices that DownToBuck was and is currently undrafted. Being constantly overlooked is starting to really annoy me given that I think I have real skills that NBA teams could make use of. Not only am I a reliable midrange jumpshooter in an empty gym, but I also once made a layup with my off hand in traffic, and if you gave me access to a good training facility and some attention from a dedicated team of trainers, I could probably grab the net with my fingertips if I jumped as high as I could. Then my fingers would get stuck in the netting and get ripped off at the knuckle, thus cutting my NBA career tragically short.
And if you don’t want to take a flyer on me like the Raptors took a flyer on Terence Davis (a flyer that is paying serious dividends right now, lest you need a reminder), you can still hire me to run your team’s YouTube channel. Some of the highlight videos I see teams uploading are just pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.
