Damion Lee Career High 26 Points Full Highlights (2/10/2020)

Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III, two of the Warriors’ most potent scoring threats with the injuries to Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, are gone, traded to the Sixers for a little pile of second-round draft picks. D’Angelo Russell, another major scoring threat when he wasn’t injured, is gone as well, to the Timberwolves. Among the tangled, decomposing bodies of scrubs that have fallen, Lee alone stands tall and proud, ready to go out on the court and get buckets for his lowly teammates.

I’m hesitant to call this video a “career high” simply because Lee will be counted on to provide a lot of buckets for the Warriors for the foreseeable future. Even if Curry comes back, which doesn’t seem like a given at this point, who else is going to put the ball in the bucket? Andrew Wiggins? We’ll see about that. He’s like Alec Burks version 1.2 (you know, the version before the bugfix 1.2.1 release) and the change of scenery might not actually cause him to improve his play in any significant way. If I’m Steve Kerr, I’m leaning on Lee heavily to score and seeing how he handles himself.

Speaking of Lee, is David Lee officially retired yet? You could bring him in to this sad-sack Warriors squad and he would probably STILL average 20/10. A move like that would raise my likelihood of ever voluntarily tuning in to a Warriors game from 0.0% to 1.3%.
