Tomas Satoransky 19 Points/8 Assists Full Highlights (2/11/2020)

The average American knows nothing about Czechia or the Czech people. Most wouldn’t be able to point it out on a map. Most probably wouldn’t even come close to pointing at the right part of the map. Even the fact that the Czech Republic got renamed to Czechia, like, four years ago is probably lost on most Americans, even if they had heard of the Czech Republic in the first place, which they might not have.

There is an opportunity for Tomas Satoransky to educate us ignorant Americans about the (presumably) lush and vibrant culture of the Czech people, but it doesn’t seem like he’s taking advantage of it. Just like he can sometimes be too passive on the court, he is also too passive in informing people that he is Czech. Do the Czech people have some delicious, unique foodstuff that Satoransky can be promote? If there’s one way to get the attention of the American public at large, it’s by telling them about food. Once Americans are on board with Czech food as a cuisine, that opens up the door to more awareness.

I bet Czech people eat cheeseburgers and stuff. Just throw some Czech-style goat cheese on there and it’s a Czech burger. Bam. Easy. I’m already doing all of Sato’s work for him. Now he just needs to go out there and use his social clout to get Americans to pay attention.

(In case you’re wondering, the last assist of the video, the lob to Chandler Hutchison, is obviously not Satoransky. It’s Zach LaVine. But Satoransky got credited with the assist, so the scorekeepers clearly know something I don’t. Maybe Satoransky and LaVine swapped souls right before the play, so it was a pass by Satoransky’s brain using LaVine’s limbs.)
