Shown in this video: Marquese Chriss enacting brutal REVENGE on the Suns for foolishly giving up on him, tearing down rims and blocking shots with primal fury.
Not shown in this video: Marquese Chriss getting blocked by Devin Booker but showing incredible restraint by not punching him in his smug face after he started yapping at him.
The Marquese Chriss of the past definitely would’ve thrown that punch the second Booker started talking trash. At the very least, he would’ve gotten up into his face and shoved him. But, perhaps as a sign of growing maturity, he calmly refrained from open hostilities. Which is a shame. Because Booker is the kind of guy who needs a good facepunch every now on then, and NBA players these days are too soft to deliver it to him.
It’s not like I even dislike Booker. I like him a lot. I’m just saying that sometimes he needs a fist to the face.
If we can add “increased emotional maturity” to Chriss’ resurgence as an NBA player, that would be fitting. He’s already shown an increased proficiency as a viable NBA player, but many are still put off by his non-basketball on-court actions. His comeback tour would be really complete if he could channel Tim Duncan and only ever get technicals for laughing at people.
