It’s only been a few minutes, but I’m already really starting to regret making this video. YouTube has this fancy thing where it shows you realtime views per minute on stuff you uploaded (back when I started, the only way you found out about view counts on your videos was when YouTube mailed you a spreadsheet of them once every three months, so this is almost too much info for me), and right now, it’s showing a whole bunch of nothing. Just like I knew it would. Because no one on earth cares about Bobby Portis.
And if they don’t care when he scores 30-plus (which has been conclusively proven), why would they care about him scoring a measly 19?
Of course, I don’t make videos for the view counts. I don’t care about view counts, really. Seeing big numbers is always fun, but this whole DownToBuck enterprise is basically for my own enjoyment only and any benefit that anyone else receives is just a side effect. But let me tell you: I did not derive much enjoyment from this vid. The buckets are kinda nice, he hit some nice jumpers (while ignoring the area around the rim even though he’s 6’10”), but I’m feeling the same way about Portis that everyone else is: he just doesn’t excite me. I don’t even know why that is. It just… is.
If he wants people to care about him, Portis needs to get back to his bread and butter: punching teammates in the face.
