The trade deadline has come and gone, and as far as I can tell, Bogdan Bogdanovic is still on the Kings. The signs all point that way: he’s still listed on the Kings website as being on the roster, his Wikipedia page says “professional basketball player for the Sacramento Kings”, and I’m pretty sure he just scored 20 points while wearing a jersey that, while very red in color, was definitely a Kings jersey. I was under the impression that he was going to be traded, but either I was lied to or the trade happened without either of the teams involved being notified.
Not complaining or anything; the Kings seem like as good of a place for Bogdanovic as any, perhaps slightly better than average due to the favoritism that Kings GM Vlade Divac probably shows for him. But it’s always fun to see good players get moved, and I enjoy seeing the incredible optimism that the new team has for their new acquisition. Can you imagine Lakers fans reactions if they acquired Bogdanovic? They’re freaking out about Markieff Morris right now, and that dude is a me-first team-cancer chucker (only exaggerating a little bit). Bogdanovic is actually GOOD. It’d be pandemonium.
The suggested trade which was Kyle Kuzma for Bogdanovic straight up, though, that was garbage. Probably why it didn’t happen.
I was also hearing some vague (I mean, really vague, like barely even there, but I was hearing it) stuff about him going to the Bucks, but after what happened with Nikola Mirotic (good player magically turning to poo just in time to cost the Bucks a championship), I think I’m fine with him staying right where he is.
