Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot (henceforth referred to as “TLC” because I refuse to waste my valuable time typing out that whole big long name) hasn’t exactly been lighting up the scoreboard this season. His previous high in points scored this season? Thirteen. TLC is, and I say this with the most love and supportiveness possible, a total scrub. Just a total scrub. A French scrub, but a scrub nonetheless.
That’s what makes TLC’s fourteen-point fourth quarter kind of crazy. Sure, he was doing it against the Hornets, and, in fact, was doing it against the Hornets’ “we’ve given up” lineup, but it’s fourteen points! Any NBA player scoring that amount of points against any level of defense is an occasion worth nothing. For TLC to do it is an occasion not only worth noting but worth celebrating as well. That’s why I’m making this video. To celebrate the occasion. And because I am contractually obligated to make a highlight video every time a scrub scores twenty or more points.
I can just imagine Kevin Durant sitting on the bench trying to be happy for this dude and failing. Conflicting ideas of “my teammate played well” and “if I was out there I would have dropped fifty without breaking a sweat” and “if this scrub takes any minutes away from next year I’m going to use my burner Twitter accounts to make mean tweets about him” are filling him with a confusing mixture of jealousy, rage, and pleasure. Probably all these warring emotions are causing Durant’s hair to fall out in big clumps. Not like it wasn’t already falling out before, but now it’s just big chunks of it. That’s that TLC scoring 21 has done to him.
