Juan Toscano-Anderson 16 Points Full Highlights (2/23/2020)

Things move quickly for rookies in the NBA. Just a few days ago, Juan Toscano-Anderson was the “Mexican Steph Curry”. But now, after this performance, he is, according to Warriors commentator Bob Fitzgerald, “Matt Barnes Part Two”.

Somehow this doesn’t feel like an improvement.

Barnes was a fine player, but he’s more renowned for his off-court antics (was he the one who got into a poolside brawl with Jason Kidd over some girl?) than what he did on the court. And I’m not sure if Fitzgerald is referring to Barnes’ first stint with the Warriors (which is where he really found himself in the league) or his second stint (which, tellingly, were the last games of his NBA career). Or maybe Fitzgerald meant to say Harrison Barnes but got tongue-tied.

In any case, with Stephen Curry, there is no confusion. He’s a multiple-time MVP, multiple-time champion, I’m sure he has tons of Finals MVP’s, he changed the game and majorly influenced a whole generation of ballers. If I’m Toscano-Anderson, I totally take being the Mexican Curry over being the reincarnation of some random role-player who got his ass kicked by John Henson that one time.
