Jordan McRae 15 Points Pistons Debut Full Highlights (3/4/2020)

In the grand scheme of Jordan McRae’s season, fifteen points isn’t all that much. He scored more than fifteen points on eight separate occasions with the Wizards. Among those games were two 29-point games as well as a 35-point outburst that resulted in his readmission into the Hall of the Thirty Point Scorers (shoutout Carlos Delfino).

But this performance is notable for a reason other than the amount of points he scored: it’s his first game with his new team, the Detroit Pistons! I put an exclamation point there, but that’s only to put forth the perception that I am excited about this. In reality, it’s hard for me to get excited about anything Pistons-related that doesn’t involve the words “Christian Wood” or “Tony Snell Fifty-Burger”. Even a microwave-type scorer like McRae going to a team that really needs his firepower isn’t as scintillating as it should be. Maybe I’m broken. I dunno.

Anyway, McRae is going to be the Pistons’ Derrick Rose replacement and I think he should do just fine in that role. Rose was averaging something like 18 PPG per game for the Pistons (I’m too lazy to open another basketball-reference tab to verify this) and I think McRae can get pretty close to that if Casey gives him tons of touches. Honestly, I might be making a lot of McRae highlight videos from now until the end of the season.
