Mikal Bridges 18 Points Full Highlights (3/6/2020)

Don’t look now (actually do look now, I want people to watch this vid), but Mikal Bridges has turned himself into a totally reasonable role-playing starter in the NBA! Aren’t you excited? Why aren’t you excited?

Ignore the fact that I, lover of all things role-player and scrub, am not excited at all. That’s my fault (it’s because I don’t care about defense and that’s one of the things he really can hang his hat on), not Bridges’ fault. You should definitely be excited for him.

Earlier in the season, I was judging him to be the loser in the Miles Bridges/Mikal Bridges comparison, on the basis that Miles was scoring way more points even if on a worse team. But now that the season is kind of getting close to over, it’s clear that Miles’ stats are pretty much the emptiest stats ever put up by anyone, while Mikal’s less impressive stats actually contribute to wins.

I think. I’m not sure, but it really feels like his defense, combined with a decent amount of scoring on good percentages, is the perfect thing for the Suns and really helps them win. Not like they win an overwhelming amount of the time, but, you know. How much worse would it be if Bridges wasn’t around being solid (and being available, he still hasn’t missed a game in his career)?
