76ers fans are now being assaulted from all sides. Their team is what is commonly termed a “hot mess express”, and pieces from “The Process”, now dispersed all across the league because Elton Brand wanted to go all in on Josh Richardson and Al Hoford (among other reasons), are flourishing, free from the confines of the most messed-up team in the league. It’s not just Markelle Fultz. It’s not just Hollis Thompson. It’s also Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot.
Luwawu-Cabarrot was never really a big part of the process. He came in kind of late, right around when they got Joel Embiid, which was the acquisition that was the end of the endless tanking. A few years earlier, he would’ve been playing 35 minutes and scoring, like, 14 per contest. Instead, he was a low-minute rookie role-player who sometimes got to start. He wasn’t that impressive, and eventually got moved in a three-team deal that netted the 76ers Mike Muscala.
He’s still not really doing much (he’s had a handful of nice games, though), but I just really want to diss the 76ers every chance I get. They deserve it for crowing so much about how they were hacking the league with blatant tanking. I heard about The Process so much that it made me want to puke. I liked how it offered me the chance to make tons of highlights of bad players, but they didn’t have to be so insufferable about it.
