A comment that was left on the previous video I uploaded has spurred my imagination and I would like to use it as the basis for this description. Thank you to the guy who commented it. YouTube comments in general are absolute unreadable trash, comments on NBA videos in general are some of the worst takes I’ve ever seen in my life, but I have to say, the comments on my videos (especially the less popular ones) are decent when I take the time to read them.
This commenter dude said that the Graham/Rozier tandem is like the new Lillard/McCollum or Wall/Beal. After I chuckled at that for a good minute or so, I actually started thinking about it. And it’s not the most ridiculously dumb comparison in the world, because Graham is kind of Lillard-esque with his combination of playmaking and high-volume three-point shooting, and Rozier is kind of McCollum-esque with his single-minded focus on getting buckets. The Wall/Beal thing is not as good a comparison when you get into the specifics, but it still holds up in general terms as another example of a high-scoring backcourt who will usually handle the bulk of their team’s scoring.
The main issue with all of these comparisons is that Graham and Rozier are just way worse than the four players listed above. They’re young and improving (or, at least, I think they’re improving, even if Graham is currently regressing), so they could reach that level of play at some point, but there’s no guarantee they get there. If they do, it’s guaranteed playoff appearances for the Hornets, and if they don’t, you can strap yourself in for ten more mediocre seasons with a revolving door of coaches and a bench full of draft busts.
