I know that Dairis Bertans (Davis’ brother for the uneducated yokels out there) already got a chance in the league and didn’t make the most of it, but with the way Davis is shooting (how many threes did he hit tonight even, let me check the title, oh yeah, what a beast), any team who’s looking to bolster their bench shooting should be looking into him.
The time has passed for teams to acquire Davis. Apparently a lot of them tried, but the ‘Zards were clear that he was not available. I mean, I’m sure they would have let him go if the return was, like, Jayson Tatum or something, but playoff teams presumably wanted to offer a poo-poo platter of crappy picks and maybe some low-caliber starter-ish role-players. That’s not going to get it done for a player like Davis.
The time has not passed for teams to acquire Dairis. There is no reason besides his familial relations to think that he can be an NBA contributor, but I’d say familial relations are a fairly good reason. Look at Seth Curry, he’s a better shooter than his brother (at least by percentages) who just needed a real chance. Not a fake chance, like what Dairis already got. A real, legitimate role.
I’m thinking Washington on this one, honestly. What better way to say “we want to keep you around forever” to Davis than by signing his bro to a contract? It worked for the Bucks. At least, I hope it worked for the Bucks.
