Mike “The Musky Minnesotan” Muscala made mince meat out of the Timberpuppies in the first half of this contest, dropping in 22 points on a combination of outside splashmastery and tough inside bucketage. Muscala probably grew up as a fan of the Timberpoops, being from the twin cities suburb of Roseville, so there was that extra level of motivation to remind all the Minnesotans watching at home of what a dominant player he can be when he feels like it.

In fact, Muscala was so dominant in the first half that he didn’t even feel the need to score in the third quarter. By then, the score had gotten so close that he was primed to pop off in the fourth and put the game away, but the Timberpuppies didn’t want that to happen. They KNEW that if Muscala stayed in the game, that he would resume his domination of them, so they had Jaden McDaniels pop him in the face with an “inadvertent” elbow, leaving him dazed, bloody, and unable to continue playing. I didn’t actually see any blood, but there was definitely some metaphorical blood leaking out of Muscala’s face out after that hit.

The Thunder did pull out the victory in the end, but it would have been a much more comfortable victory if Muscala had been allowed to score, say, another 22 points in the second half. If you’re doing the math at home, that would have been 44 for the game. I’m fully expecting a lifetime ban to come down on Jaden McDaniels’ head for robbing us all of the opportunity to watch The Musky Minnesotan drop a forty-burger.
