Kyle Anderson 27 Points/6 Threes Full Highlights (2/10/2021)

It wasn’t until his fiftieth career game that Kyle Anderson hit his sixth total NBA three-pointer. In this game, it didn’t even take him twenty minutes to hit his sixth three-pointer. That is a brief, yet jarring and thought-provoking, synopsis of Anderson’s career to this point. So jarring and thought-provoking, in fact, that I definitely should get hired on the spot by The Athletic for coming up with it. To any hiring managers out there, I promise that there’s more juicy stats-based tidbits where that came from.

I was on the Kyle Anderson hype train before he was even drafted, so the fact that he’s finally developing into a big time scorer is the ultimate vindication for me. Okay, I’ll concede, he’s more of a “medium time” scorer than a “big time” scorer, but the point still stands, that sweet-shooting all-around player we were teased with before the 2014 draft has now emerged from the oven fully baked and ready to contribute. If there was some kind of trophy for being right about this stuff, I would have at least three trophies (I was right about Jarrett Allen and Stephen Zimmerman as well). I would also have a lot of non-trophies for all the times I was severely wrong about a player’s chances of NBA success, but I prefer to dwell on my successes and not my failures.

I gotta say, this Grizzlies team is pretty fun and I should try to watch more of their games. They’ve got a goofy cast of characters. They just gotta trade that chucker Dillon Brooks, give Anderson some more touches so that he further develops into prime (but slow) Lamar Odom minus the sugar addiction, and another playoff appearance is absolutely possible.
