The Heat are not having a good time this year. Yeah, they won this particular game against the Lakers, which might represent some sort of a turning point, maybe, so there’s slightly more optimism hanging around the team than there was yesterday, but it’s only one win. We’ve had a third of a season’s worth of other evidence as to what kind of team the Heat are this year, and it doesn’t paint a pretty picture. That Bubblicious Finals run seems like a fever dream now. Are we sure The Bubble even happened?

Whether or not the Heat actually made the Finals, they’re definitely not making it this year unless some people start pulling their weight a little bit more. Is there anyone one the Heat who ISN’T underperforming? It seems like everyone regressed. I guess Adebayo is probably better than last year? I’m not convinced that Tyler Herro is actually good. Goran Dragic is looking old, probably because he is, in fact, old as dirt. Maurice Harkless is possibly the worst replacement ever for Jae Crowder, did they really think that he would be an adequate stand-in? I don’t want to say that Crowder was the reason that the Heat were so good in the playoffs last year, but I can’t seem to avoid coming to that conclusion. Maybe things would all rectify themselves if they just packaged up some random crud to the Suns so they could have him back.

Now that I think about it, maybe Kendrick Nunn hasn’t regressed this year. So that’s two players: Adebayo and Nunn. Good work, dudes. Heck, make it three: Udonis Haslem hasn’t regressed, because he was already at zero, and when it comes to player quality ratings, you can’t go into the negatives. Unless you’re Kwame Brown (LMAO).

Kwame Brown wasn’t even that bad though. But people back in his day sure liked to think he was the worst player ever. If DownToBuck had been around for his career, I would’ve been mildly complimentary to him at least 10 percent of the time.
