On the same night that Danny Green received his 2020 championship ring from the Lakers, he decided to enact a brutal REVENGE GAME against his former team, scoring above twenty points for just the second time this season. While Jabroni Lames cried from his hospital bed, Green went out and dropped eight three-pointers, including a clutch one with thirty seconds left that basically obliterated the Lakers’ chances of winning the game. Afterwards, he slipped the championship ring onto his finger and then punched Kyle Kuzma with it. I saw it happen.
I have been, in the past, accused of overusing the concept of a “REVENGE GAME” in order to fabricate nonexistent narratives and bolster overall interest in my video descriptions. I admit that these accusations are not without merit. The concept of a REVENGE GAME holds such sway in my mind that I will often detect elevated levels of REVENGE where such REVENGE is not present. However, I think that Green really was playing with vengeance on his mind in this one, and that my labeling of his performance as a REVENGE GAME is wholly justified.
Remember, Green was not treated well by Lakers fans while he was in LA. He was streaky and inconsistent, sure, but Lakers fans called him some really vile nicknames, like “Inconsistency Green”, “Streaky Green”, “Danny Streak”, and “Streaky Streak Man”. Vengeance against the fans who failed to support him would be his number one goal going into this game, and by god, he achieved all that vengeance and more, in an extremely vengeful manner. A true, classic REVENGE GAME for the ages.
