When it comes to Brazilians in the NBA, there isn’t a whole lot to work with. Despite Brazil’s history of producing good NBA players, the current list is rather short:
-Bruno Caboclo
-Cristiano Felicio
-Raul Neto
And you can actually take Caboclo off that list because he was waived by the Rockets back in January after appearing in just six games for them. That leaves us with Felicio, who has only appeared in ten games this season, and Neto, who is having a career year but is still just a run-of-the-mill backup point guard. Nobody who is even close to the level of Nene or Leandro Barbosa. Comparing Neto to Barbosa isn’t the most illogical comparison ever made (especially because Neto played the “undersized, speedy shooting guard” role extremely well in this game), but comparing Felicio to Nene is like comparing Jordan Crawford to Kobe Bryant.
My question is, how am I going to squeeze Patreon donations out of the Brazilian citizenry if there aren’t any decent Brazilian players with whom to tempt them with? Do I just have to wait until Brazil produces another top-tier NBA talent? That could take forever. Although it would happen a lot quicker of somebody picked up Caboclo and actually committed to giving him a consistent role, god damn it.
