When one thinks of “signature moves”, a few things come to mind. Kareem’s skyhook, obviously. Kobe’s fadeaway. Dirk’s fadeaway. MJ’s tongue flapping everywhere and hitting dudes in the face. Giannis’ eurostep. Kosta Koufos’ push-shot-floater thing.
Note that last one. Yeah, I think Richaun Holmes must have borrowed Koufos’ signature move after getting a few tips from the Big Gyro himself. Good idea! Koufos did a ton (I’m using the term “ton” somewhat loosely here, deal with it) of damage with that shot during his time with the Kings, and Holmes has continued the tradition of the noble push-shot, such that it definitely counts as his “signature move”.
I hope NBA2K has figured this out and has special animations and tendencies and stuff for him. I wouldn’t know because I haven’t played that game since Holmes came into the league, but if his push-shot isn’t in there, I’m never buying an installment of that franchise ever again. I’ll make my own basketball game. How hard could it be? First step would be to get some motion-capture from Holmes of him shooting various push-shots, and the second step would be to build the rest of the game around that. Easy. It’s gonna be called “DownToBuck’s NBA FREAKOUT STREETBALL EXTREME feat. Richaun Holmes” and there’s gonna be a picture of Holmes shooting a push-shot on the cover.
Can one of those dudes who runs one of those Silicon Valley venture capital firms float some of that sweet venture capital? This is a can’t-lose business proposition, honestly.
