Remember how much fun it was when Marcus Morris was the first option for the Knicks? That wasn’t even that long ago, a bit more than a year, but it seems like forever because of the pandemic. He was averaging nearly 20 PPG per game, had more offensive freedom than ever before, and had gotten himself kicked off my channel for being too good.
Honestly, for me, those weren’t fun times. I made way too many Marcus Morris highlight videos for his stint with the Knicks, and nobody really wanted to watch them, so it felt like a huge waste of time. I look back on those times with regret. Regret for not being more strict with how I used my time. Regret for not putting Morris on my exclusion list sooner. Regret for not extorting hundreds of thousands of dollars out of Morris by withholding my highlight videos of him until he sent me a briefcase full of cash bundles. I mean, it’s not like he couldn’t afford it. He could totally afford to give me $500,000 or so for my extremely sought-after services.
This video is nice because it showcases “vintage” Marcus Morris (the “vintage” being a year ago), but it doesn’t come with the implication that this is the kind of scoring performance Morris will have night and night out. I can deal with him having a thirty-point outburst every few months. That’s a totally acceptable of Marcus Morris to have in my life. But the Knicks-era Morris who would seemingly score 23 points every single game without fail? I don’t wanna think about it. It’s making me upset.
