Do people still use the term “bae” in reference to things that they love, or did that play out a few years ago? Over time, I have lost my ability to stay currently with the new slang, and when I do become familiar with a slang term, I latch on to it for way longer than I should so that I can maintain relevance with the young people.
This is an important question because I need to know if I can call Saddiq Bey “Saddiq Bae”, or if that is no longer considered a cool thing to do. Would it be cool if I said “Saddid Bey is bae”, or is that lame-o too? I really have no way to get the answers to the questions because I’m not going to debase myself by asking Google what slang terms are cool or not. It’s not like Google would know either. Google’s run by a bunch of nerds. They probably roll around the Google offices in their swivel chairs proclaiming things to be “baller” (a term which I know for a fact is not cool to say anymore).
Even if it’s no longer hip to say the word “bae”, it’s undisputable that Saddiq Bey is bae. How could he not be bae? He’s one of the best three-point shooting rookies ever and might be on pace to break the rookie three-point record of 187 held by Donovan Mitchell (LOL [lots of laughs]). Every team wants a rookie who can shoot threes efficiently at high volume right out of the gate. That is bae as hell. I’m not envious of Pistons fans about most things, but I am envious of them for Bae Bey. I am also envious of them for having Jet’s Pizza locations located conveniently across their entire state. Best ranch dressing in the world don’t even THINK about @’ing me.
