Jalen Harris was the 59th overall pick in last year’s draft, which makes it a huge accomplishment that he was able to get his very own DTB highlight video. It’s even more impressive considering that he’s appeared in fewer games (10) than all but two of the second-round picks who have NBA minutes under their belts (those two being J’ah’mi’us’ Ramsey with nine games and Grant Riller with six games). And it’s not like I’m reaching to make this video here. Sixteen points hits my MPT (minimum points threshold) right on the dot. Harris EARNED this video without me diluting his accomplishment by making some kind of protocol exception for him.
The ass-end of that draft has some decent players if we’re being honest with ourselves (and you know I’m being honest because I only write true things in my video descriptions, no falsehoods). Jalen Harris is the fourth player out of the “bottom ten” to get featured on my channel, joining Skylar Mays, Kenyon Martin Jr., and Sam Merrill. I would really like Jay Scrubb to get a highlight video, since the opportunities for jokes would be through the roof, but he’s on a two-way contract with the Clippers and they haven’t put him into a game yet. I don’t know if he’s even been on the roster yet. Talk about wasted opportunities. This is getting me heated.
Since Harris has played moderately well for the Raptors in a few games, and was drafted so late, you can add him as another glimmering jewel in their crown of player development. Insufferable Raptors fans will certainly be in the comment section patting their organization on the back while Kawhi Leonard sits in his Los Angeles mansion sipping fancy cocktails and giggling to himself and getting his load expertly managed by an expert team of load managers.
