Astute observers will note that Vlatko Cancar’s total of fourteen points, while quite impressive for a player of his low caliber, is a full two points below my current MPT (Minimum Points Threshold) of sixteen. The MPT is supposed to provide a hard limit past which I will never make or upload a highlight video. However, an exception NEEDED to be made for this performance. I feel it deep in my loins. So deep in my loins that I confused it for a legitimate medical incident and took myself to the emergency room. After looking at my naked body for a while, the doctor sent me back with a prescription for Vlatko Cancar highlight videos. And who I am to refuse the orders of a learned doctor?
The Timberwolves’ commentators’ indignance at Cancar’s unprecedented scoring outburst is another sign that this video needed to be made. Cancar has never even scored close to fourteen points before. His previous career high was eight points and I honest to god almost made a highlight video at that time. His rookie season, the most he scored was four. After seven made three-pointers in his career up to this point, he just added three more like it was no big deal. Cancar is out here being a Michael Porter Jr. replacement and you expect the opposing commentators to just sit there and take it? FOH outta here. I’d be annoyed as well.
I have to admit, Cancar doesn’t look like I expected. Knowing he was from Slovenia influenced my thinking, but, also, his name just SOUNDS like an angry name. I was picturing a big, burly, hairy southern European with a protuberant brow and a shuffling gait. Not this clean-shaven, reasonably attractive young fellow. I wanted Nikola Pekovic, but got Primoz Brezec instead, and it’s too late to do a return on him.
[Ed. Note: Slovenians are absolutely welcome to donate to my Patreon in the hope that I continue to upload videos of Slovenian players, but I have a weird feeling that Cancar isn’t going to be replicating this performance any time soon]
