When I said in my last Celtics video description “Just remove Thompson from the lineup entirely”, that was me being sarcastic and making a totally nonsensical suggestion to be funny. It was definitely NOT because I thought a center rotation of Robert Williams and Luke Kornet would be preferable to having Tristan Thompson get playoff minutes. That statement was made in jest as well. A handy rule of thumb: every time it looks like DownToBuck was wrong about something, it was actually just him being sarcastic; DownToBuck has never been wrong about anything. Ever.

However, when I said that Jabari Parker deserved way more minutes, that was a true statement made earnestly. He was a DNP this game, which might hurt my case since the Celtics actually won this game, but they would’ve won by MORE if he got a ton of minutes, because the Nets don’t have anyone who can stop him. My faith in the validity of this position is unshakable; if you try to shake me (like a baby who won’t stop crying), I’ll ban your entire existence from the internet. Don’t think I have the power? Pfft. I have friends in high places. Romanian hackers who will hit cntrl-alt-delete on your LIFE.

Anyway, I knew all along that Thompson was going to be the x-factor this series, and he showed it tonight. The Nets have a large amount of offensive talent, but they’re kind of lacking in pure BEEFAGE, which is an attribute that Thompson provides a large amount of. He was beefing all over the court tonight, but most of his beef-outs occured in the paint, where the Nets had no answer for him and his beefy rebounding skills.

The Nets maybe could’ve dusted off the corpse of DeAndre Jordan, but I think that would’ve just made things worse. Thompson may not be at the peak of his powers, but Jordan is seriously useless. That vegan diet must have really sapped whatever vital energy he had left.
