Seth Curry 36 Points Full Highlights (6/16/2021)

Before I get into the meat of this description, I just want to say thank you to the Sixers for choking so badly against the Hawks that the Bucks’ embarrassing chokejob from the previous night is washed from the collective memory of NBA fans worldwide. Losing a 17-point third-quarter lead while Kevin Durant has the game of his life is one thing. Losing a 20-point fourth-quarter lead to Trae Young and…Lou Williams?…is another thing. It’s another thing and it’s a way worse thing.

Seth Curry did his part give to the Sixers this win. In fact, he did more than his part. He’s been scoring very nicely this entire post-season (he has just one single-digit scoring game in the ‘offs), but 36 points is more than just “scoring very nicely”. 36 points is a level of scoring domination that would make Steph proud. The crispy, charred corpses of the hapless Hawks players tasked with trying to stop the so-called “lesser” Curry brother from scoring will never forget how badly they were torched by his spicy shooting.

At this point, I could unironically suggest that Curry be used as the primary point guard and second scoring option in lieu of Ben Simmons and I’m pretty sure Sixers fans wouldn’t even argue. They would agree with me. Simmons’ free throw woes and general lack of scoring output this series are certainly making him seem less like a core piece going forward and more like somebody they should have traded in order to get James Harden.

Imagine a Curry-Harden-Embiid core. That’s not a guaranteed championship, but I’m pretty sure it would be guaranteed to beat the Hawks in the second round.
