If we just forget everything about “draft position” and “nba readiness coming out of college” that we currently associate with Thomas Robinson, and instead just view him as a rebounding specialist like Reggie Evans, we can see that Robinson does indeed have a place in the league. As a 10th or 12th man who sucks up rebounds and can sometimes score garbage buckets.
That’s not really what you want out of a fifth overall pick. You want more than that. But I’m trying out this new thing in my life called “positivity”. It’s when you don’t automatically focus on the worst aspects of people and when you don’t jump to the worst possible conclusions. I’m trying it out right now with Thomas Robinson, who I would usually have called a bust about five times by now. See how fun this is? I love positivity! Thomas Robinson has the ceiling of a middling role-player! Awesome!
