Darren Collison 26 Points Full Highlights (1/3/2017)

If any other player in the league got arrested for domestic-violencing their wife, you would never hear the end of it. As it should be. Darren Collison, though, has so few admirers, supporters, fans, or even people who remember that exists, that he was able to do such things and get away (relatively) unscathed.

Collison’s lack of fans has followed him throughout his career. Near the beginning of his time in the NBA, there were some people who tried to hype him up based on what he did in relief of Chris Paul on the Hornets. A fair attempt, since he was worthy of at least a little bit of it, but his playmaking never returned to the level he set that year, and he never really improved his scoring that much either.

He’s managed to secure (kind of) a starting gig for the Kings this year, beating out Ty Lawson who got way more attention for being a drunkard than Collison did for the arrest. And he’s been solid, as usual. But if you asked a random NBA fan who the starting PG for the Kings was, I don’t know if 50% could give you the right answer. Is that an optimistic estimate or a pessimistic estimate? Given that it’s the Kings we’re talking about here, maybe optimistic.
