This video only exists to chronicle an honest-to-god dunk by Gerald Green which is, as far as I know, his first one of the season. He hit some other shots in this game, and they were actually pretty impressive for what they were, but they weren’t dunks. The dunk is the star of the show here.

The Celtics are one of the most landbound teams in the league, with none of their players regularly jamming the basketball. Obviously, dunk frequency doesn’t correspond directly with win frequency, but it’s still nice to give the fans some extra excitement. I don’t know if it’s the scheme that the Celtics are running or what, but if Green were to dunk on a regular basis, you can bet that nationwide Celtics hype would get pretty big pretty quickly.
