This is what happens when the Rockets miss a bunch of threes and keep taking them anyway because that’s the gameplan: they lose. Can’t blame them for keeping on trying; gameplans are made to be followed, come hell or high water. Did George Washington give up when a few of his dudes died in battle? Of course not! So why should the Rockets give up when a few of their threes go all the way in then pop out again?
That said, maybe Sam Dekker needs to reevaluate his shooting form. He just puts so much arc on that thing, and it doesn’t seem like a natural amount of arc. Like, at the last second, he just flings it up with his wrists, not using a natural arm motion like noted high-arcer Dirk Nowitzki. He should just shoot it flat like he used to, I can tell that’s still his natural form based on the midrange (BENCH HIM MIKE) jumper he hit.
Before you say that I’m not the right person to be talking about fixing wonky shooting forms, let me tell you that I am VERY qualified in this area. I myself used to have a broken shot, and after hard work and many lonely hours at the park, I am now sporting a beautiful jumper that actually looks kind of like Adam Morrison’s. Not even joking, totally serious here. I worked super hard on this thing, and then I found out it looked like Ammo’s shot, you know how bad that sucks? You have no idea.
Luckily most people I play with with make Shawn Marion’s form look like Stephen Curry’s.
