Boris “The Big Croissant” Diaw just dunked in-game for the first time this season. It was probably also point-blank his first dunk this year because he doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who would dunk during practice either. And you can bet he never plays in pickup games.
You can see with your own eyes why Diaw would be reluctant to dunk. He’s carrying some extra weight on those bones and if he wants to be able to walk with his son at graduation, he’s going to need knees to do that. Diaw’s knees certainly don’t appreciate the force of fifty extra pounds of croissant-generated blubber crashing down on them with excess force.
The only reason he dunked it this game is because he actually did a Shaq-esque power move on Darrell Arthur (RIP) and needed to finish off this show of power with an appropriately powerful dunk. A layup would have been anticlimactic after Diaw brutally pushed off with his arm and with his moobs to clear the defender out of the way. It was like Shaq pushing Chris Dudley to the ground except this time Arthur didn’t get pissed and chuck the ball at the guy who just whapped it on him.
