Why didn’t Croatians mobilize to vote Dario Saric into the All-Star game? Or did they actually mobilize but their efforts were so minimal that I didn’t even notice? He’s putting up better numbers than Zaza Pachulia, and the whole country of Georgia managed to cast like 500,000 votes for that dude who everybody hates now, so why couldn’t Croatia get a bunch of people to vote for Saric?
If I didn’t know better, I would say that the people of Croatia aren’t dedicated enough to the manipulation of the fan voting system. Either through some sense of “morals”, or simply sheer laziness, they didn’t spam the entire internet with “Dario Saric #NBAVote” like Greeks did with Giannis, Georgians did with Zaza, and I did with Luke Babbitt. I don’t recall even one vote for the Homie. Croatians as a whole had a chance to step up and make their collective voice heard, and they failed.
Saric does get to be in the Rising Stars game, so that’s something. However, Croatians had nothing to do with that other than indirectly fostering this guy and making him into an acceptable basketball player. Next year when Saric is averaging thirteen a game on 41% shooting (that NBA Encyclopedia can correct me if my numbers are wrong), I expect a more serious effort when it comes to ironically getting Saric into the All-Star game.
