As it stands right now, Robin Lopez is tied for second place in the prestigious “amount of hook shots made” category. Andre Drummond has him beat by a long shot, since SVG is so desperate to turn him into Dwight (who has only made 13), and he’s tied with Hassan Whiteside with 67.
Lopez’s hook form is a little unorthodox. I like to compare it to Kareem’s famous skyhook, the only difference being that Lopez doesn’t jump a whole lot on his so it ends up a lot flatter. He gets buckets with it, though, so I don’t hear anyone complaining. Even the Bulls commentators had to acknowledge that the Bulls should probably run their offense through him. No, I am not kidding. They actually said that. I know. Fropez doesn’t exactly scream “offensive centerpiece” to me. More like screaming “Spare some change for a veteran?”.
