I admit, I didn’t think David Nwaba would find another NBA team to play for after the Lakers waived him. A European team, sure, he would probably dominate over there. But not an NBA team. How many squads need a 6-4 dude who plays like a big? I love his hustle and his heart and his intangibles and all that stuff, but he just doesn’t seem to fit in the modern NBA.
Turns out I was being a really big dumbass, because the Bulls immediately snatched him up and he ended up making their final roster. Now, if there is value in a player like Nwaba, it probably is best utilized on a playoff team in a defined role. Not on a team like the Bulls where everything from minutes to personnel to punches is in a constant state of chaos. But whatever. He’s here, maybe not to stay, but at least until the end of the year, and I’m going to enjoy it as much as I can.
Which will be more than I expect if he can start hitting some threes. Threes and dunks.
