Jayson Tatum 20 Points Full Highlights (12/8/2017)

I didn’t even realize that Jayson “Jason Taytum” Tatum was leading the league in three-point percentage until it was brought up during this game. I thought that the guys doing the broadcast for ESPN were so afraid of losing their jobs that they would say any stat that they thought would attract more viewers, so they just made up something to say about Tatum. Then I looked it up and, what do you know, there’s Jay-T at the top of the damn three-point shooters list.

Forget for a moment the other anomalies that occupy the top of the list (Olynyk, Snell, Parsons, Hield). 19-year-old rookie Jayson Tatum is the best three-point shooter in the league and we’re over a fourth of the way through the season. That’s sick. I don’t want to be one of those young’uns who takes a dump on the older eras, but are we or are we not entering a golden age of young talent in the NBA? If a rookie in the early 00’s came in and started shooting threes like that, his teammates would beat his ass and tell him to iso more so that the team could keep averaging 85 points per game. And if he arrived in 1979 after the three-point line was introduced, all those floppy-haired white guys would just be dumbfounded.
