Yes, I know that Caris LeVert had three assists in this game, and yes, I know that one of them was an alley-oop to Jarrett Allen for the sweet stuff. The thing is, three assists is never enough to include in a DownToBuck-provided highlight video unless one of the assists is a no-look behind-the-back (or behind-the-head) pass leading to a free-throw-line dunk while members of the opposing bench take cover under their chairs and assume the nuke-safety position in reaction.
Instead, you are treated to a jumpshot bonanza from Mr. LeVert AKA Baby Durant (????). “Bonanza” might be overstating it, but any indication that LeVert can hit jumpshots should be taken as a positive sign by Nets fans. LeVert is still shooting around 30% on any shots outside of ten feet, which is pretty awful, but we can put this game in the “progress” category on the tally sheet of LeVert’s career.
