My dear friends, I have sad news to tell you:
With Corey Maggette out of the league, there is only one player left in the NBA who looks like Corey Maggette, and that player is Jarrett Jack.
In the past, there have always been two players in the NBA who look like Corey Maggette: Corey Maggette himself, and Jarrett Jack. But Maggette has been retired for four years now, and there was a period of time where Jack was out of the league as well, so perhaps the sadder news is that there was a period of time where NO Corey Maggette-looking players were in the NBA. That’s not the kind of NBA I want to be a fan of.
I guess I just assumed that Maggette was sticking around in the league somewhere, but nope, he’s gone. The latest reports indicate that he’s operating a chain of Italian-themed fast-casual restaurants called “Maggette’s Spaghettis” in the Chicagoland area. Maybe he can give some advice to Jarrett when Jarrett retires to open a chain of restaurants called “Jarrett Jack’s Rootin-Tootin Cowboy Pub and Grille”.
