Jeff Green is playing the most efficient basketball of his career in Cleveland, apparently the beneficiary of the “LeBron James Effect”.
The “LeBron James Effect” is also what caused Isaiah Thomas to be so bad in Cleveland. It works both ways, somehow.
Green was so garbage in Orlando (SO GARBAGE, it cannot be emphasized enough) that I’m really surprised at how well he’s doing this year. Lots of garbage players are so garbage that even LeBron can’t salvage them (I’m thinking about Iman Dumpert right now for some reason), but Green has responded well to his scenery change, and is converting at the rim at a high level. His three-ball still kinda sucks, but it’s always been iffy.
Tonight, he was the second option on offense for the Cavs, or maybe the third if you think Korver was more important, but still, he had to be good, and he was. 24 points worth of good, his second-best game of the season. Maybe Cleveland will make the playoffs after all?
