Shelvin “The Macksturbator” Mack just got a promotion. Since Elfrid Payton, the Magic’s erstwhile starting point guard, got traded for a jar of desert sand a few days ago, D.J. Augustin becomes the starter and Shelvin Mack becomes the backup. This means more minutes and more highlight videos for the Macksturbator going forward. Great! I always have a soft spot for guys who seem like they’re just barely scraping by in the league for a half decade or longer.
Since I’m able to evaluate Mack’s performance through the calm lens of rationality (if the Bucks had lost this one, I would be angry and irrational about it), I got to thinking: is this the best game of Mack’s career? The answer: maybe. Depending on what you value. He’s scored above twenty three times (27, 23, 21) and gotten twelve assists twice (and ten assists three other times), but this is his best game when it comes to both scoring and distributing. I would probably give the nod to his 27-point game, but thats’s just me.
The Macksturbator could put all this speculation to rest if he goes out and drops a 30/15 line next game against the Bulls. That should be easy now that he’s the backup instead of the third-stringer.
