Isaiah Taylor 17 Points/6 Assists Full Highlights (2/23/2018)

Isaiah Taylor played 22 minutes tonight compared to Dennis Schroder’s 27. In a system where minutes were doled out based solely on how good players were, the difference would be closer to 30 than 5. But the Hawks aren’t running that kind of a playing-time-distribution system. One thing that affects the minutes situation is that a larger percentage than normal of their games are end up with a significant amount of garbage time, inflating totals for lesser players.

The other factor is that they are tanking.

But is it really tanking when your marginal third-string PG scores more points and dishes more dimes than the supposed “star”? I just blew your mind a little bit, admit it. Taylor outplayed Schroder tonight, the exact wrong thing the Hawks wanted to have happen. It didn’t matter tonight, because they were so thoroughly outplayed from the opening tip, but if this trend continues, they could stumble into a few unwanted wins.

Would it be too blatant to have Miles Plumlee be the PG? Asking for a friend.
