I’m kinda talking myself into maybe considering making a David Nwaba dunkilation at the end of this season. He’s had his share of high-flying power pumps this season, but he’s also only dunked it twenty-one times in total. That puts him on par with other non-dunkers like Kosta Koufos (bald), Jrue Holiday (underrated), Harrison Barnes (tank commander), and Pascal Siakam (can’t shoot threes). None of those guys would get a dunkilation under any circumstances (except I’m pretty sure I made a Barnes dunkilation back when he was on the Warriors), so why should Nwaba be any different?
Okay, so I managed to talk myself out of it for now. But the next time Nwaba holds a demolition derby at the rim, the urges to make a dunkilation for him will return stronger than ever. And if he manages to get fifteen or more dunks this season, a distinct possibility as Hoiberg “rests” the team’s best players in order to further the tanking agenda, then it will be even harder to resist.
