Bryn Forbes 20 Points Full Highlights (1/3/2019)

Bryn Forbes got the Spurs going after they went down 0-2 to start, hitting a three a minute into the game. I don’t think the Raptors hit another shot after that, and the Spurs romped on national TV to a decisive win. I admit, I bought into the storyline, and I was watching this game with interest. That interest soon turned to boredom as Kawhyareyoufakinganinjury LeoNADS failed to do much of anything and the Spurs continued hitting all their shots. Come on, Raptors. You’re supposed to be good. You’re not supposed to get blown out by a team consisting of two iffy midrange chuckers and a bunch of role-players.

Forbes is leading the team (easily) in three-point makes. I’ve mentioned previously how messed up it is that an undrafted role-player is leading a Popovich-helmed team in that category, but now that I think about it again, it’s not too different from the Danny Green situation. Now there’s where you messed up, Spurs people. Leonard isn’t a huge loss because the gains from getting Uncle Dennis out of the picture are massive. But Danny Green? He was, like, the soul of the team.

It’s still messed up, however, that Forbes is now in the top 20 three-point makers this season. The NBA has moved heavily towards a three-oriented game, and still some random dude on a team that doesn’t even want to shoot threes is one of the best in the league? I remember having this problem with Isaiah Canaan before as well.
