Raise your hand if you noticed that Terrence Ross is averaging 13 points per game this season. And then put that hand down because you are LYING. There is no one earth who still cares enough about slam-dunk-champion Terrence Ross to realize that he’s having the best season, scoring-wise, of his career. Theoretically, fans of the Orlando Magic would realize such a thing, but they have no fans left. Don’t believe me? I hit up one of those shady telephone poll outfits and only had to pay like a couple thousand dollars for them to call up and ask 10,000 people if they were fans of the Magic. That may sound like not very many people considering they were calling the whole US, but the results were statistically significant: not one person responded with “Yes, I am a fan of the Magic and DownToBuck IS the best highlight channel on YouTube”.
I’m not blaming anybody here. It’s hard to pay attention to the whole league, and certain teams/players have to be ignored. Even if you have a passing interest in the Magic, it’s probably because you are following the progress of Jonathan Isaac and Mo Bamba (maybe Nikola Vucevic and Aaron Gordon if you’re an old timer), and you’re not going to be watching for Terrence Ross. Or D.J. Augustin.
Even this game, it feels like his 20 points didn’t even happen. He hit so many threes in such short spurts that it didn’t seem like he really made a lasting imprint on the game. But watch these highlights and behold: 20 points really did happen, and really nobody cared.
