Jerryd Bayless is basically ruining my life right now. Him getting this many assists in this many consecutive games is unprecedented in the context of his career, and honestly, it’s really starting to tick me off. I don’t want to make a Bayless highlight video where he gets ten or more assists. That’s not in my job description. But I’ve had to do it twice in the past week.
Okay, I admit that making Bayless highlight videos is, in fact, listed as one of my duties in my job description. It’s not stated explicitly, but it says that I have to make “videos of scrubs whenever they have a good game”, and somebody like Bayless dropping a 15/10 line definitely counts as a “scrub having a good game”. That doesn’t mean I like having to do it. I should amend my job description so that I only have to make videos of scrubs having good games if I think that the resultant videos will get any views at all (this one certainly won’t).
I can’t wait until Jeff Teague comes back. Now that’s a phrase I never thought I’d have to say, but I’m saying it. Once Teague is back in the rotation, there will be no reason to play Bayless enough minutes for him to accumulate highlight-worthy stats. Then I will finally be free of this curse and he will cease ruining my life.
